So, labour day weekend usually means relaxing, bbq’s, family, friends – maybe a glass of vino… maybe!? No no, wait… not in the life of a photographer!!! That’s just silly! September is always a big month for weddings, so I am sure you can all imagine how I spent my long weekend!
Lets start from the beginning. Recently, I was introduced to Jen from Jennifer van Son Photography. Jen was seeking a second shooter for an October wedding she is booked for, and she was given my contact information from a mutual friend. I’m so grateful to have met Jen, as she is a kind, easy going and funny individual!
We decided that prior to the October wedding, we should get together to ensure our personalities, work ethics and styles jive. Good idea, right!? SO! Diana and David were next on Jen’s schedule, and after asking the soon to be bride and groom if they were apposed to a second photographer tagging along for the day (who wouldn’t say no!?), she invited me to join her! I was so pleased. It was perfect!
Diana and David both got ready at the Eaton Chelsea downtown Toronto. Their rooms were side-by-side, but they took EVERY precaution to ensure that they did not see each other on the day of their wedding. After getting some photographs of them getting ready, we all met at the Estates of Sunnybrook (gorgeous!) for their ceremony. Their ceremony was set in a beautiful enclave of trees, which made it very personal and private.
Once the ceremony was over, we escaped the gatherings and took them over to Alexander Muir Park for some photos. I hope you enjoy my favourites!
