Carolyn & Peter; Wedding – Enoch Turner Schoolhouse – Toronto

Where do I even begin with these two? Out of the get-go I was excited to photograph this awesome couples wedding! Why? Well, lets start from the beginning, and get a little personal. My husband and I both run, although – he is far faster than me – in comparison, I would hardly call my “running” anything more than a quick shuffle! He trains with a group called the “Black Lungs Toronto,” and has been taking the 40 minute trek downtown for nearly a year now. Within his team, are some amazingly talented men… one of which is Peter!

Peter and Richard, my husband, both run at a fairly consistent pace with one another (aka fast), and got talking one day about Peter’s upcomming wedding. Peter mentioned he didn’t have a photographer booked yet, and like a good scout, Richard mentioned me! Of course, Peter took the referral to heart, because before I knew it… I was meeting them at this awesome cafe in the heart of the city.

There wedding day, May 3, 2014, was super relaxed. My newest side-kick, Heather, and I arrived to find Carolyn decorating before her first-look took place with Peter. Some of Carolyn’s bridesmaids were recently blessed with new babies, and Carolyn insisted that none of them show up until they absolutely had to (which was about an hour before the ceremony to take some bridal photos). So, we followed Carolyn around, snapping pics while she got the ceremony room ready, and then herself ready… and we awaited Peter’s arrival for their sweet back to back reveal.

Their ceremony and reception, at the Enoch Turner Schoolhouse in Toronto, was darling. Carolyn’s DIY touches filled the room, from her picked apples, to her window lanterns. Filled with close-knit family and friends from all over Ontario, and even some from my favourite place in the USA – Boston, MA! The stories told amongst everyone were enough to start a killer party by the end of the night, too!

I hope you enjoy some of my favourites from their day {and I am sure you can tell how hard it was for me to narrow it down}!
